Dr. Laura Macrae is a dedicated mixed animal veterinarian with a strong foundation in both livestock production and companion animal care. She graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) in 2013 and began her career working extensively within the dairy and beef producers, gaining valuable hands-on experience in herd health, reproductive technologies, production medicine, and on-farm consulting.
In 2017, she relocated to Westlock, Alberta, where she continues to serve the needs of both large and small animal clients. Her professional interests include preventative medicine, herd health management, reproductive technologies and strengthening the human-animal bond through compassionate, practical care.
Outside of veterinary practice, Dr. Laura Macrae is actively involved in agriculture alongside her husband, a pedigreed seed grower. Together, they operate Jonk Family Farms, where she contributes to farm operations and maintains a close connection to the agricultural community she serves. Deeply rooted in rural life, Dr. Laura Macrae values building lasting relationships with her clients and is passionate about supporting animal welfare and the human-animal bond.
